Folk Recovery is an oral history project highlighting and celebrating the importance of Black, Indigenous, Asian and all racialized storytellers contributions to Canadian folk sound. The Folk Recovery team is an ad hoc group of artists and presenters invested in designing a space for BIPOC artists to speak on their experiences, influences and musical direction including any additional intersectionality of their lives such as abilities and LGBTQ2+ community members in correlation to folk music. We hope these conversations develop an awareness for emerging and established artists as well as support the diverse narrative of Canadian folk music history and tradition.
